A message from Adria Rossman, President & CEO regarding our Founder, Howard Rossman:
” Rossman Tax Service was founded by Howard Rossman in 1979. Howard graduated from Queens College in 1971 and was employed by the Internal Revenue Service for 9 years. Howard left the Internal Revenue Service and inherited the business from his uncle who had started the practice in New York City during 1950s. When Howard began with the business he would travel to New York City on weekends to meet with his clients in rented Travel Agency. As the business grew Howard began to see the clients in our home. We remained working from our home until 2009 when we moved the business to our current location at 16 Roosevelt Avenue in Port Jefferson Station NY.

Howard’s main focus was always his clients; they were his family. He would often be found in the waiting room sitting with the clients exchanging stories or telling jokes. He was often heard saying to the clients “Don’t Worry, Taxes Are Fun” Howard would also tell his clients “You are the most important person in the world to me at this moment” and he meant it! To Howard this business was as he used to say “more than just taxes”. He truly loved his clients and in turn they loved him. His legacy to this business is the compassion and care we continue to give to the Rossman Tax Service client. Howard was also beloved by the staff and he was looked at as a mentor and friend. Many of them called him Uncle Howie. His sense of humor and good nature made what could otherwise be a very stressful job into a fun and loving place to work. Howard would always walk around the office and talk to the staff or call them to his office when he saw that they needed a compassionate and encouraging voice. Sadly, Howard passed away in June 2015. I am very grateful for having had this wonderful man in my life. He was a wonderful father, husband, business partner and friend. He is truly missed by us all. He left a wonderful legacy and we will keep it and his name alive forever. ”
